She transitioned her career into the nonprofit world, where she has worked tirelessly to improve Colorado’s public education and later to enrich the lives of seniors. She is a certified mediator and a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). Patty serves on a number of boards and volunteers for several causes about which she is passionate. Speaker: Gail Hamilton – Wings to Fly
Presentation: How to Assist Someone with Blindness or Vision Loss
About the Presentation: Gail, partially blind at birth and totally blind by 11 yrs of age, is a powerful, inspirational and entertaining speaker, author, performer, facilitator, transformation coach, and teacher who lives with total blindness. Independence, strength, and resiliency, are words that many people use to describe Gail. Her published memoir is an extraordinary book, “Soaring into Greatness: a Blind Woman’s Vision to Live Her Dreams and Fly.”
About Gail: Gail has spoken and performed for many local, statewide and national organizations and conventions. A few of these are multiple State Conventions for Lions; Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired Senior Awards Dinner, Indianapolis; No Barriers Symposium for people with disabilities in Lake Tahoe, California.

Gail has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music–William Woods University, Fulton, Missouri; a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance–Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas; and a Master of Arts Degree in Transpersonal Counseling and Psychology–the Naropa Institute, Boulder, Colorado. She is certified as a Reiki Master, and a Gestalt and EMDR psychotherapist. She has experienced firsthand what it is like to Cope with, and overcome a disability, walk through societal, personal, and career discrimination, and how to endure mental and physical atrocities. Gail’s blindness has given her the opportunity of seeing with her inner vision allowing her to provide an inner prospective that is unique and transforming. It is Gail’s heart’s desire that her presentations, though humorous, and musical, will provide hope to others, let them know they aren’t alone, and encourage everyone to persevere. Through life’s experiences Gail has learned that it is how we choose to focus on our mind’s attitude and how we choose to take or not take action that allows us to harness adversities and break through our barriers and create a life of greatness.
